DOJ Charges Individuals in Iran’s Oil Trafficking Network

U.S. scrutiny has intensified during the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced multiple charges against seven defendants allegedly linked to Iran’s oil trafficking network.

While petroleum makes up over half of Iran’s exported goods, many of the world’s most powerful nations, including the U.S. and the European Union, have blocked imports of Iranian oil. The U.S. has sought to identify the ways that Iran bypasses these global blocks, and Iran’s financial involvement in the October 7 attacks on Israel has intensified scrutiny of their trading practices.

“The Justice Department will continue to use every authority we have to cut off the illegal financing and enabling of Iran’s malicious activities, which have become even more evident in recent months,” Attorney General Merrick Garland stated.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Attorney General Garland to be prudent as he oversees the Justice Department.
  • For DOJ officials as they seek to prevent the trafficking of Iranian oil around the world.
